Kathy Allen, Veterinary Technician
Kathy D. Allen was born in Kermit, Texas and grew up in the small town of Mineral Wells, Texas from the age of 5-18 years old. She lived the “country kid” life where animals were her companions/friends. Living outside of city limits often dogs and cats were abandoned near her home. She would collect them and either nurse them to health if needed or assist with finding a new home. This is where her love of veterinary medicine began.
Kathy moved to Washington DC to attend college. She was able to see “city kid” life. While getting exposure to a different lifestyle she missed all her critters she had back home in Texas. Her veterinary medicine career started after returning home from university and the family moved to Hobbs, NM. She started as a kennel attendant and worked her way up to lead tech in a few short years. She stayed with this clinic 12 years before meeting her husband online and then moving to Soda Springs, ID. She then filled a position at the clinic there and again rose to lead technician position and stayed with that office for over 11 years. While getting her license as a registered veterinary technician has always been the goal… life has got in the way.
Kathy has been married to her husband for almost 15 years when joining the Bridger Animal team at the end July 2026. She has 2 bonus daughters and one of her own. Outside of work Kathy likes to spend time with her family creating memories and going on adventures. They love to be in nature either hiking, fishing, snow machine riding, 4-wheeler and dirt bike riding and riding horses, going to music concerts and more. Her favorite part of vet medicine is the human animal bond and how as a tech she can enhance that bond. She looks forward to becoming a long-term member of the Bridger Animal team and the wonderful Star Valley community.
